Arrived Pittwater
And you all thought sailing was relaxing...................... Last night at midnight we were forced to up anchor and head for the open sea due to an unforecast strong north westerly with the potential to push us on to a lee shore. We had a vigorous and fast sail for the next sixteen hours. Not only was it tiring but it was dark and freezing cold as well (thank goodness for a full moon). We envied everyone tucked up in their nice warm beds while we were out battling a cold rough sea. John kept reminding me that this was our holiday!!!!!

Hi John, not on pc often, 2am now so getting the feel for this system. Been in that happy position of quick exit in the wee hours. 25 Kn on the quarter, better than 10kn on the nose, 16 or 26 hours the difference. Cheers Geoff
ReplyDeleteHi Geoff,
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, that is what sailing is all about.
Its just as cold here.My offer to swap still stands, although being on deck in the cold when a warm bed waits below is a form of torture I guess. I'm sure you're just exaggerating to make us feel better about having to stay at home and work etc.
ReplyDeleteChins up. Don't be in a rush, we haven't started Kaye's car yet. Stay safe.
Hi Gerry,

Yes, it wasn't nice to have to get out of a warm bed to up anchor in blustery conditions.
Say hello to the guys at the gym.
